Learning Goals:

Project management and leadership skills are one of the five core virtual technology competencies that students need to master for their career development. In the fashion industry, making a new season collection, producing a fashion exhibition, product sourcing and merchandising etc. activities can be considered as a project. Fashion industry professionals should possess essential management skills to lead these projects. The key learning objective for this module is to introduce students to manage their work projects applying principles of project management and using virtual online project management software to implement and lead projects.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will be able to describe project management as a business tool to manage a range of complex process, primarily including planning, organizing, managing, and implementing projects.

  • Students will be able to identify the type of fashion organizations’ activity that can be managed as a project.

  • Students will be able to propose an application of virtual project management software to fashion business activities.

  • Students will be able to understand the role of leadership in project management team interactions.

  • Students will be able to make recommendations to solve some of the potential challenges of project management and project team leadership in fashion business environment.

 

Delivery Method: 

This module is available online and can be taught as a classroom or web-based activity.
